Abbott drops lawsuit, maintains deadly blockade

Today July 22 2007 in Sydney, Australia, at the initiative of people with HIV/AIDS from Thailand and France, Abbott CEO Jean-Yves Pavée participated in a meeting meant to resolve the crisis in which the company has dug itself in Thailand. Yet, during the meeting, Abbott refused to lift the deadly blockade of its lifesaving HIV medication Aluvia which the company is currently exerting against Thai people with AIDS.

Aujourd'hui à Sydney, en Australie, à l'initiative de malades du sida de Thaïlande et de France, le PDG d'Abbott a participé à une réunion destinée à résoudre la crise dans laquelle la compagnie s'est récemment enfoncée. Durant ce rendez-vous, Abbott a refusé de lever le blocus que le laboratoire exerce contre les malades du sida en Thaïlande, en les privant de l'Aluvia, un médicament anti-sida vital.

Abbott Blockade against Thailand: people with HIV/AIDS invite CEO to crisis resolution meeting

Today July 13 2007, The Thai Network of People living with HIV/AIDS and Act Up-Paris have invited Abbott Laboratories CEO Miles White to a conciliation meeting with a representative of the Thai government, during the International AIDS Conference in Sydney, on July 23 2007. This meeting aims to offer the drug company an opportunity to get out of the crisis in which it has dug itself since announcing a blockade of lifesaving medicines against the Thais, followed by a lawsuit against people with HIV for organizing an internet protest.

Blocus d’Abbott contre la Thaïlande : les malades du sida invitent le PDG à une réunion de sortie de crise

Aujourd'hui, vendredi 13 juillet, le Réseau Thaïlandais des Séropositifs et Act Up-Paris ont invité le PDG des laboratoires Abbott, Miles White, à une réunion de conciliation avec un représentant du gouvernement thaï le 23 juillet 2007, en marge de la conférence mondiale sur le sida qui se tient à Sydney. Cette rencontre offrira au laboratoire une occasion de sortir de la crise dans laquelle il s'est enferré depuis qu'il a annoncé contre les malades thaïlandais le blocus d'un médicament anti-sida vital, puis une action financière en justice contre l'association de malades français qui a organisé l'action internet de protestation anti-Abbott du 26 avril.
